Watermarks on YOUTUBE

YouTube is taking steps to stop users from re-posting YouTube Shorts clips to other apps, via the addition of new watermarks on Shorts clips. Instagram and TikTok also include watermarks on downloaded clips in order to make it a little harder for creators to simply re-post their shorts on other platforms.

When creators use a company’s technology to make a video, the platform wants to be credited as the source. Some platforms like Instagram are penalizing creators for reposting videos with watermarks, which means that creators are forced to edit their videos with third party editing software like adobe, and then post to each social media platforms they use.
