Focus on What You Can Control.

Whether you are a business owner or an employee, keeping your focus these days on the task at hand is hard. March Madness, wars, trials, politics, TikTok or instagram videos seem to find a way into our daily lives. At work or at home keeping distractions away from us is getting harder each day, so here are a couple of tips to set your goals and follow through without letting what is happening around you jeep you from doing what is needed.

Organize your day, week, month. Start with a to do list.

Limit interruptions - That means put your phone away, turn off the TV or surf the web.

Keep personal communication to a minimum and if possible only to your FREE time.

Avoid multitasking. Science has proven we are not meant to multitask. Finish one task then start the next one.

Take breaks - This means taking time to decompress from one task to another, not necessarily get your phone to watch the news or videos.

Set boundaries with colleagues - They too can be a distraction.

Work in time blocks.

Set time for your online activities and block time for distractions in your day. It is healthy to get your mind off work but make it on your own time.

We hope this helps. Remember that there are many things you can’t control, so focus on what you can control to make your business, your community,  your life better.
